Is college in your plans?
If so, PA Distance Learning has an opportunity for you.

This year, PA Distance Learning High Schoolers will have many Advanced Placement (AP) classes from which to choose.

AP classes are college level courses offered to advanced students which allow them to possibly earn college credits through the coursework and the AP assessment examination.

There are now 7 PA Distance Learning teachers certified to teach Advanced Placement courses to High Schoolers. The 2016-17 school year offers. The courses offered are as follows:

AP Calculus
AP Statistics
AP Biology
AP Chemistry
AP English Literature
AP Language and Composition
AP U.S. History
AP European History

Recently certified in AP Calculus, Mrs. Claudia Lee is very excited for the chance to challenge her students this year.

“Being an AP-certified teacher gives me the opportunity to be an even greater asset to my students,” said Lee. “I now have the ability to present calculus concepts with a real-world approach, showing students how to apply their knowledge to different types of problems.”

Mrs. Coleen Brennen, our AP Biology teacher emphasized that “advanced” does not mean the students are expected to learn by themselves, though they should expect a greater time commitment. Students taking an AP class can expect two live learning sessions per week, and the same access to their teachers as in any of their courses.
