Senior PA Distance Learning student Sienna Rodriguez is always up to new and amazing things, from acting, to writing, to photography.  Last summer, she started writing for the Pittsburgh Youth Media, and was just recently part of a podcast by the Saturday Light Brigade to reflect on the classic story, To Kill a Mockingbird.  This podcast featured Oscar-nominated actress Mary Badham, who played Scout in the 1962 movie.

This discussion was another great opportunity Sienna has had in her young life, with many more to come. Sienna has written 4 articles for the Pittsburgh Youth Media already, and is currently working with Public Source to publish an article, too.

“It’s going to be on the topic of the racial identity crisis that mixed children face,” Sienna told me. “It’s going through the second round of editing from their staff and I should be meeting with a photographer soon.”
