Eligibility and Registration Requirements

Enrolling at PA Distance is straightforward. Here's what you need to know:

  1. Easily Apply Online:
    Please complete the request form, and we will send you an application link via email. The application takes around 10-15 minutes to complete.

  2. Quick Phone Consultation:
    Our enrollment team will contact you by phone during business hours, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., to review your application. Enrollment cannot proceed until this step is complete.

  3. Required Document Submission:
    You will then upload your required documents through our secure portal; a personalized secure link will be provided to you through email.

Eligibility Information

Age

Students enrolling in Kindergarten must be 5 years of age on or before the first day of school in their district of residence.

In general, students may not be 21 years of age at the time of enrollment but may be permitted to complete the school semester in which his/her 21st birthday falls. However, students with an IEP may enroll and attend until their 22nd birthday. This is subject to change based on rules and regulations established by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

Technology

The enrolling student must have reliable, high-speed internet service in the primary residence no later than the first day of school. *Please note, verification will be requested.

Residency

Proof of residency for school enrollment must be within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Required Documents

  • Please provide a copy of the child’s birth certificate or a valid passport. You can also request a copy of your child’s original birth certificate at www.vitalchek.com

  • All documents must reflect the current address. We will NOT accept envelopes.

    We will accept any one of the following items:

    • A current deed;

    • A mortgage statement no more than three months old;

    • An active residential lease agreement;

    • A utility bill no more than three months old;

    • An internet bill no more than three months old;

    • A credit card bill no more than three months old;

    • A bank statement no more than three months old;

    • A tax bill no more than three months old;

    • An insurance document no more than three months old; or

    • A piece of mail sent in the past three months by the federal or state government such as benefits information, voter registration, or tax documents.

  • Please provide a copy of your child’s most recent immunization record. You can obtain a copy from your doctor’s office or request one from your child’s current school. The following documents may be requested but are NOT a condition of enrollment

  • Please provide a copy of your child’s most recent report card or transcript.

  • Please provide a copy of your child’s most recent IEP (Individualized Educational Program) & NOREP (Notice of Recommended Educational Placement), the Initial ER (Evaluation Report), all RR’s (Reevaluation Reports), most recent Invitation to Participate, all Permission to Evaluate and/or Waiver forms, and any other psychological or related service evaluations pertaining to Special Education.

  • All new students, students entering kindergarten or 1st grade, and all 6th and 11th grade students must take a current physical exam. Physical Form

    *Students in all grades must receive annual health screenings.

  • Students entering kindergarten or 1st grade and all 3rd and 7th grade students must provide a current dental exam. Dental Form
