Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC)
We are excited to announce a new opportunity for PDLCS high school students, the Registered Pre-Apprenticeship: Pathway 2 Build program! This program is offered through a partnership with the Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) Western PA Chapter. It's designed for 11th and 12th-grade students who are interested in careers in the construction industry.
What is the Pathway 2 Build Program?
This program provides students with the foundational knowledge and skills needed for construction careers and future apprenticeship programs. It focuses on important skills like:
Safety
Math
Using hand and power tools
Communication
General work-readiness skills
What Students Will Earn
Upon successful completion of the program, students will earn several valuable certifications and credentials, including:
OSHA-10
Adult CPR/First Aid/AED
NCCER Construction Site Safety
NCCER CORE Certifications
PA Pre-Apprenticeship Completion Certificate
These NCCER credentials are recognized nationally in the construction industry.
Key Details
When: The program is 75 hours long. There are two sessions available:
Fall: September 23, 2025, to December 18, 2025
Winter: January 13, 2026, to April 9, 2026
Schedule: Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m..
Where: The class is virtual via Zoom , but all in-person testing and hands-on learning will take place at the ABC Western PA Chapter in Gibsonia, PA.
Cost: The cost is $2,500 per student (Cost will be covered by PA Distance Learning)
